The leader’s mindset can help explain the difference between effective and ineffective leadership. By mindset we mean the filter or predisposition through which we look at the world around us.

While each of us has our own unique mindset based on experience and socialization – the ability for us to be more purposeful in creating and developing a healthy mindset is key to personal and team effectiveness. While there are many aspects of mindsets that we can examine – we believe that there are five key continua of leadership beliefs that create a core philosophy for each leader. While an individual’s philosophy may be happenstance or purposeful, the impact it has on leadership behavior, and there by employee performance, is profound.
